Donations, Volunteers Needed for Make a Difference Day

Be part of the Nation’s largest day of volunteering on October 24

The St. Johns Housing Partnership, helping people live safer, healthier and independently with dignity, is taking action to improve the local community and help neighbors on Make a Difference Day, Saturday, Oct. 24. Volunteers and donations are needed.

“Make A Difference Day is an opportunity for everyone in St. Johns County to come together for the sole purpose of making their community stronger by giving back through volunteering and donations,” said St. Johns Housing Partnership Executive Director Bill Lazar. “SJHP is built on serving those in need whether it be the elderly, Veterans, the disabled or low-income families struggling to maintain and stay in their homes.”

The St. Johns Housing Partnership is enlisting volunteers to help paint, landscape, and build wheelchair ramps for the elderly, Veterans, or disabled in St. Johns County.

Whether through volunteering or donating, National Make a Difference Day encourages individuals to contribute their time, resources, and skills to help their neighbors. Now in its 26th year, National Make A Difference Day shows that anyone, no matter their age or background, can take action that improves their community. Big or small, every project makes a difference.

Originally sponsored by USA Weekend and Points of Light, the event now thrives as a grassroots movement, powered by the passion of local organizations like the St.. Johns Housing Partnership and individuals who also believe in making their communities better.

“Volunteers across the county will gather to do something good for others. It is rewarding to see the positive impact that Make a Difference Day has for so many people,” added Lazar
