SJHP Shares Story, Recognizes Champions at Raise the Roof Awareness Luncheon

Safe, affordable housing is essential to a strong community, and meeting that need takes all of us.
Last month, St. Johns Housing Partnership (SJHP) welcomed community leaders, business representatives, and neighbors to our Raise the Roof Awareness Luncheon at The Assembly Room Events at Art ‘n Motion for a conversation about the growing housing challenges facing St. Johns County.
Through personal stories and examples of our work, guests learned how critical home repairs, wheelchair ramps, weatherization, and affordable housing development help working families, veterans, people with disabilities, and seniors on fixed incomes remain safely in their homes and communities.
The program also featured keynote speaker Phil McDaniel, retired CEO of St. Augustine Distillery Company, and recognized three individuals for their contributions to our community:
Delores Barr Weaver — Philanthropist of the Year Chris Shee, MasterCraft Builder Group and Heritage Development Group — Humanitarian of the Year Viv Helwig, Vested Metals International — Corporate Impact Award Special thanks to our host committee, chaired by Irene Arriola, and our luncheon sponsor, Valley Bank, for helping bring this event together.
SJHP is grateful to everyone who joined us, shared ideas, and helped strengthen the relationships that will shape the future of affordable housing in St. Johns County. Together, we can preserve existing homes, create new housing opportunities, and help more of our neighbors remain in the communities they call home.
