Fact Sheet Now Available on How to Use the Coronavirus State Local Recovery Funds to Invest in Affordable Housing

ST. AUGUSTINE –  (March 8, 2022) – Florida cities and counties have an opportunity to address the growing affordable housing crisis utilizing Coronavirus State Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (SLFRF) from the American Rescue Plan.

The Florida Housing Coalition has released a new fact sheet for local governments, housing advocates, and industry groups on how to use Coronavirus State Local Fiscal Recovery Funds from the American Rescue Plan to make significant investments in affordable housing.

“The Florida Housing Coalition is a great resource for government and housing officials. This program provides a once-in-a-generation opportunity for local governments to address the local affordable housing crisis. And the Fact Sheet services as a guide to begin using these available funds to address the problem.” noted Bill Lazar, Executive Director of the St. Johns Housing Partnership.

These funds can be used for affordable housing development, supportive housing services, down payment assistance, nonprofit aid, and other eligible activities. The Coalition can help your local government use SLFRF dollars for affordable housing initiatives.
